About this tour

Mount Raung is located in East Java and is shared by three districts: Banyuwangi, Jember, and Bondowoso. As is commonly known, Mount Raung, accessed via Kalibaru, Banyuwangi, is one of the most extreme mountains in Java. It stands at 3,344 meters above sea level (MDPL). It is also the third highest mountain in Java after Mount Semeru and Mount Arjuno. Mount Raung has the second largest caldera in Indonesia, after Mount Tambora on Sumbawa Island.

  • 07:30-08:00 Depart to Post 1 by motorbike taxi
  • 08:00-10:00 Start hiking from Post 1 to Camp 2
  • 10:00-11:00 Continue from Camp 2 to Camp 3
  • 11:00-12:00 Continue from Camp 3 to Camp 4
  • 12:00-12:30 Rest and have lunch at Camp 4
  • 12:30-13:30 Depart from Camp 4 to Camp 5
  • 13:30-15:00 Continue from Camp 5 to Camp 6
  • 15:00-16:00 Continue from Camp 6 to Camp 7
  • 16:00-00:00 Rest at Camp 7 until summit

  • 00:00-01:00 Preparation for summit
  • 01:00-02:30 Depart from Camp 7 to Camp 8
  • 02:30-04:00 From Camp 8 to Camp 9
  • 04:00-04:30 Rest at Camp 9 while preparing climbing gear
  • 04:30-07:00 Depart from Camp 9 to the true summit
  • 07:00-08:00 Enjoy the sunrise at the Flag Peak
  • 08:00-11:30 Descend from the true summit to Camp 7
  • 11:30-Next Day Rest at Camp 7 until the next day
